I am not a bad person. I just think that all the Terri Schiavo controversy is hysterical. Now she can die like she wanted.
She is brain dead because she has no cerebrum…it decayed away during the 15 years she was in a vegetative state, or unconscious of however you label someone not techinically alive.
This was on Larry King:
KING: Why do you want the feeding tube removed?
SCHIAVO: This is Terri’s wish. This is Terri’s choice.
KING: It’s not written anywhere, right?
SCHIAVO: Yes, but it’s been decided for six years of litigation that this was Terri’s wish.
KING: No, but I mean, why…
SCHIAVO: Now, they keep saying that I’m the only one that came to the court with these comments that Terri made. There was two other people that testified also.
KING: That she did say that?
SCHIAVO: That she did say that.
KING: But why do you want it taken out? Why do you want the feeding tube removed?
SCHIAVO: This is Terri’s wish. And I’m going to follow that wish, if it’s the last thing I can do for Terri. I love Terri deeply. And I’m going to follow it up for Terri.
KING: How old was she when this happened?
SCHIAVO: 25.
KING: A 25-year-old said to you, if I die, if I’m in this kind of state, most 25-year-olds wouldn’t think of something like that?
SCHIAVO: It was a comment from watching certain programs. She said, we were watching some programs, and she says, I don’t want anything artificial like that. I don’t want any tubes. Don’t let me live like that. I don’t want to be a burden to anybody. She’s also made comments to other people about different stories.
While President Bush was Governor of the great state of Texas, in 1999, he signed a Texas law which was recently used to allow a hospital to remove a 6 month old boys life support against the parents will. The law does make the patients ability to pay part of the decision to remove the life support.
Today President Bush said:
“I urge all those who honor Terri Schiavo to continue to work to build a culture of life where all Americans are welcomed and valued and protected, especially those who live at the mercy of others,” he said.
WHAT THE FUCK. Bush you are so lame. It is still a surreal dream that America is this fucked up to give you the thumbs up twice…well maybe it was only once but that is another story.
Go America. And Congress, way to put all that effort in when you knew in the first place you weren’t going to re-write the Constitution. And the Conservative agenda is awesome too.
Both my professors today are non-native english speakers. So that pissed me off. It’s not their fault, but they are annoying. I walk into my second class today. And someone is juggling. I thought that was pretty cool. And at breakfast my applesauce tasted like ground beef. No joke. Life is swell.
2 week spring break. Was very nice. The road trip was from saturday to saturday. Left early, drove to Souther Oregon and slept at a rest stop in the Van. I slept in the back while my dad drove through Northern Cali. There was record flooding a couple months ago so everything was really green and pretty. Got to Yosemite and had to put chains on the car to go over a pass. It was really wet so we didn’t do much there. The next morning there was really clear and I got to see Half Dome and El Capitan which was rad. Started the drive south towards Death Valley. Quite a bit of driving. There were a ton of butterflies out so the front of the car was full of yellow blobs and wings stuck everywhere. The drive down into Death Valley is pretty dramatic. It was a lot bigger than I expected. Ended up camping at Furnace Creek. Woke up the next morning and went on a hike up Titus Canyon. Only about three miles up a river bed and at the stop was a smooth slick rock canyon. The sun came out a little and it was cool. Drove up to a meteor crater and when we got up there there were 70mph winds. When I jumped I got pushed back a few feet. Drove up north and toured this cheesy castle someone built in the middle of nowhere. Went back to the campsite. It was basically just a big dirt lot full of RVs. There were record amounts of people because of all the rain in So. Cal. and the record wildflowers that bloomed. Went and tried to use the showers but failed. There are a ton of workers at the park from South America. It made me really sad. I was jealous of them. The next day we went to the sand dunes and hiked around there for a while. I like deserts. Went and did another hike up Mosaic Canyon which had more narrow canyon walls. It was hot out that day…but I cant imagine it being 120+ there in the summer. I cant remember if I am telling everything in order anymore. One of the nights there was a huge sandstorm when we were driving back to the campsite. It was late afternoon but it seemed like the middle of the night. Sand and rain flying everywhere…it was pretty sweet. The last day we drove down to Badwater basin. 282 feet below sea level. It cool because there is an 11,000 foot mountain across the valley and it goes down to -282. One day I want to come back and hanglide off it. That would be amazing…even though I would probably die. Went on another hike. I want to go back there sometime and just hike up into the mountains and chill for a few days…that would be a trip. We left for Northern California and stayed with some family in Susanville. To get there we drove up through Nevada to Reno. That part of Nevada is a shit hole. Nothing out there and really white trash and depressing. Sucks for them. I bet there a a lot of crazies out there. Went and stayed at my uncles cabin on a lake. It was cool. It had all my grandpa’s Indian stuff which was nice to see. We hooted at some owls and earlier saw a bunch of huge golden eagles. The next day we went for a walk in the morning and helped save a ton of trout. There were California Fish and Game people saving trout from spawning in a stream because they would die for some reason. So we grabbed nets and fished them out. They were pretty big too. I like fish. I wanted to eat one but we couldn’t. One flipped out of my net and thumped on the ground and stopped moving. I laughed and I think the head guy glared at me. I think there were 3,000 trout total in the back of a huge truck. Awesome. Later went on a bike ride. Left to go back to the cousins house. Hung out for a while. And then drove back to Reno to pick up my cousin coming back from college back east. Left the next morning at 5:30am. Drove to Portland and went to Powells Books. Got some Spanish books of course. And drove through a shitty rain storm all the way back to Redmond. Then on March 27th I realised I am not invinsible and it was a rude awakening.
Last night was radical. Went driving around the eastside and then hit up UW and IHOP. Went to the Quad at UW with the cherry trees. Cool. IHOP in Seattle and walking woody the next morning. Spring Break is amazing. A year ago today I would be in Italy. I hate remembering the past but I had so much fun. I was thinking about the time time I crashed my Vespa in Rome. That has to be on my top ten list of most random moments for me. Mike and I started off at our hotel with the mopeds and rode around the city for a while. Then we split up and decided to meet up at the Vatican in a while. I knew the map of Rome like a mofo so I didn’t think twice about how to get there. I got lost and it started to rain. So I took a corner really fast in some back alley and got disoriented somehow and the wheel got caught in one of those trolley car tracks. I went flying off the bike and it went crashing off in anther direction. There was gas everywhere and part of the front had bent. A couple people came over and were yelling in Italian, probably trying to help me. I couldn’t figure out how to start the thing. Took me a while to remember to put the handbrake on before starting. Shit. I need to go have some adventures. I am bored with life right now.
I have such an addiction to…candy that I inhaled a whole bag of Ricola Naturla Herb Cough Drops. Now I am sneezing a lot. I realized that (me da cuenta que) I need to get a record player for the house/my room nexy year. I also realized that I want to be a DJ. I have this list of things, very random things, that I want to do someday. All the stuff like skydiving, traveling, slap a Bush, etc. It is fun. I write funny things that people say without knowing it and then I tell them later to embarass them. Ok last cough drop….I’m gonna get the runs. I took the train home from school. People that ride the train are wierd. And one of those funny sliding doors, that make the swooshing sound, hit me. I wasn’t happy. And now I am going to get a haircut.
I am so lazy…can’t get my studying done. Spanish is too easy to really concentrate on. I understand everything, writing wise that is. I couldn’t hold much of an exciting conversation though. Biology is too intense for a 200 level class. There is so much memorization involved. It is not hard at all for me, just so much to grasp and sift through in my mind. Grr. And the forecast for southern Utah for spring break is……..RAIN. WTF…okay now I really know there is no God, because if he really loved me then he wouldn’t make it rain and spoil all my fun. But I’m not being selfish am I? I just finished reading Jump, Frog, Jump! in spanish. Only the best childrens book ever and the fact that it is in Spanish is 300 times better. Oops….I just did something really immoral…oh well no one saw it right?
Ciao bella
Un poco de vino rojoy poco de agua sin sal
para dormise tranquila en su lecho,
de fugaz eternidad
Otra cerveza? Sí…gracias. That is a direct quote from my spanish presentation. My eyes are kinda screwed up. I think that I am going blind. Anything less than about 3 feet away becomes blurry and I get double vision. Sweet. The eye “doctor” told me to do pencil pushups (WTF) to strengthen the muscles or something. I really enjoy how this all happens during finals and it is painful to read because I have to really concentrate on not letting my eyes go crazy. Oh life, stop being so silly. Spanish gospel music really helps though. I bought a new spanish CD, this dude from Argentina Federico Aubele. I know you are super excited about this. I have nothing important to say.
,,Los!! “keucht er noch seinem Vordermann zu, dann wirft er sich erschopft ins Gras.
Some polls still show that:
64 percent believe that Saddam Hussein had strong links to Al Qaeda
61 percent believe that Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, was a serious threat to U.S. security
47 percent believe that Saddam Hussein helped plan and support the hijackers who attacked the U.S. on September 11, 2001
Even if these polls aren’t 100% accurate, they still show obvious facts.
Hmm….God Bless America.
Well on a happier note. So there was a mass dolphin beaching a few weeks ago down in the Florida Keyes next to where my aunt lives. About 50 dolphins beached themselves and about half eventually died. Great. The navy was nearby testing sonar of course. Sonar systems can generate 235 decibels. In air, that’s as loud as a Shuttle launch. WTF. Last week, the Bush administration issued a statement opposing international efforts to curb sonar use. Holla.
Hoekay so I have a friend. Lets call him Pablo. He was caught using a recreational drug in his dorm room. He met with his RD and everything is cool. He has to take a stupid class and write mini-essays or something. The date for his class is April 20th, 2005. I guess the RD told him the date with a straight face too. If that isn’t irony, I don’t know what is. Hanyways…gotta go.
